The Green Director
My name is Stephanie Poirier, and I am a licensed funeral director located in Southern California.
It is my mission to help inform consumers of your many options relating to end-of-life and post-mortem care, and help you plan for the inevitable.
Stephanie Poirier has been working in deathcare for over five years, starting as a funeral director and moving into an educational role within the industry. She helped establish the first alkaline hydrolysis (water cremation) facility in California, and managed that facility until moving on to another deathcare start-up to focus more on education.
Stephanie is a licensed funeral director in California, and also holds certificates in cremation operation, alkaline hydrolysis, and preparation of unembalmed remains. Stephanie has a passion for helping bring new ideas to deathcare, and advocating for more eco-friendly options for families. She often create videos and does speaking engagements, for both the general public and other funeral professionals, in an effort to further access to, and knowledge of, these alternative options. She can be found on social media under the pseudonym The Green Director.
Before deathcare spoke to Stephanie, she attended art school and professionally worked as a photographer for many years. After transitioning out of that as a full-time career, she worked in business development and sales, helping open and operate several small businesses.
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys traveling and experiences new cultures, and has been all over the world. She also enjoys spending time in sunny San Diego with her friends and enjoying the weather.
